Rest of June

When we got home from the Cheney reunion, we had Sam go take a shower. He didn't close the shower curtain far enough and water started pouring through a canned light in the kitchen while Dan was doing the dishes. I believe he shouted out something like, "Kristen, something's wrong!" Then he ran upstairs and had Sam turn off the water. Too late. A big water mark appeared in the kitchen ceiling.

 We have since painted over it with special paint and you can hardly see it, thankfully.

We also had a big leak in the roof near some kind of vent and the drywall in the kids' shower got majorly messed up so we had a drywall guy come and patch that, then we painted it with the special paint, too.

I bought this amazing Christmas sweater for $3 at Kroger after Christmas and one day after church I just felt like it was the right time to break it out.

Candice and Ryan were still in town, so we headed back over to Earlysville to spend more time with them.

We celebrated Lincoln's birthday. Eli loved all the presents Lincoln got. A lot of the party was dinosaur-related.

Cheney family reunion 2018

The day after school got out, we headed down to Duck, North Carolina, to spend the next week with the Cheney clan. We stayed in the same house we used two years before. A quick walk through a small neighborhood to the beach, its own pool, and close proximity to town as well. We quickly jumped into relaxation mode.

Earlier in the year, Candice had posted this hilarious picture to instagram of Craig with a squirrel on his back. Dan and I got a cake and found some edible printing company and put the picture on the cake. (We were responsible for dinner the first night.)

Monday afternoon we had professional pictures taken. Before the photographer came, Kirk wanted me to snap a few pictures of his family. Unfortunately, my lens was still totally fogged up so I didn't get a great picture of them, but this would have been so nice if it weren't foggy!

These two get along so well when they're together! Carter is six weeks older than Sam.

Sam did some good boogie boarding on this trip, as did Dan, Kirk, Craig, Ryan, Teresa, Zoey and Aiden.

These reunions are so fun. Wish we could get together more often! Looking forward to 2020!
